Put a Small Plant Where You'll Enjoy Itdaily

A desk doesn't need a lot of decoration to feel personal. If you enjoy plants, a small one nearby can be something pleasant to look at when you turn away from the screen.

Begin with the conditions you have. Notice the available light and temperature, then choose a plant whose care requirements fit them. A dim corner won't become suitable simply because you move the pot to a window for a few minutes each week.

Give it room to grow

Use a stable pot with appropriate drainage and protection for the surface underneath. Keep water away from electrical equipment, papers, and the edge of the desk. Check whether the plant is safe around your pets or children.

Follow care advice for that particular plant. Use a weekly reminder to check its needs rather than automatically watering every Monday. Different plants and seasons call for different amounts.

Let it be a plant you enjoy caring for, not a promise of cleaner air or better concentration. If the desk isn't a good spot, a nearby shelf may be better. The small view matters more than keeping the pot in a prescribed corner.
