Keep a Blanket Basket Beside the Sofadaily

A blanket is lovely when you're curled up on the sofa. It's less lovely when you're moving it from chair to chair to find somewhere to sit. A basket nearby can give it a place to return to.

Use a container you already own if it's suitable. Make sure it has room for the throws you use, is easy to reach, and doesn't block a walkway or sit against a heater. A lid is optional; ease of use matters more than a particular look.

Fold it well enough

Gather the clean blankets, fold or roll them loosely, and put them in the basket. You don't need identical rolls or a color scheme. Keep anything needing a wash separate and follow the care instructions rather than returning it to clean storage.

Let the people you share the room with know where the blankets live. If they still end up on the floor, notice where they're being used and move the basket closer.

The room doesn't have to look untouched at the end of every evening. It just helps when comfort has a home you can reach without getting up from the sofa.
