Protect Two Empty Blocks in Your Calendar일상

A week can look productive on the calendar and still leave nowhere to think. Before filling the remaining gaps, choose two blocks you'd like to keep free of meetings.

They don't need to be an hour long. Start with a length that fits your responsibilities, and be clear about the purpose: focused work, a buffer between appointments, or time for tasks that don't yet have a slot.

Make the boundary visible

Label the blocks in a way colleagues can understand. If you control your availability, suggest another time when an invitation overlaps. If you don't, discuss what protection is realistic rather than quietly declining essential work.

When something urgent uses one block, see whether you can move it. Sometimes you won't be able to, and that tells you something about the week's demands rather than your discipline.

On Friday, notice whether the space helped and whether the timing was practical. Adjust next week's blocks accordingly. The aim is usable room in the calendar, not two perfect rectangles that survive at any cost.
