A shorter list makes the next step clearer

Weekly planning
Use a simple theme as a reminder of how you'd like to approach decisions, rather than another target to achieve.

When the task list gets long, it can help to have a small idea to return to. Choose one word that describes what you'd like more of this week: finish, simplify, steady, or connect.
The word doesn't need to be inspiring to anyone else. It should mean something practical to you. If you choose “finish,” perhaps that means completing an existing draft before beginning a new project.
Write the word beside your calendar, then add a short sentence explaining how it might affect a choice. Keep the actual commitments and deadlines in your normal planning system.
When another request arrives, use the theme as a question rather than an automatic answer. Would accepting it support what matters this week? Are there responsibilities that override the theme? A word shouldn't replace judgment or a conversation.
You can change it when circumstances change. At the end of the week, notice whether it helped you make a decision. If it felt like decoration, try a clearer theme or leave the exercise aside. It only needs to earn the space it takes.
Choose a scene and add your story. Start a diary of your own with Your Day.
