Evening & sleep
If it feels comfortable, take a moment to move your ankles and ease into the morning before leaving bed.

Some mornings, you want a moment between waking and standing. Before getting up, try a little gentle ankle movement rather than reaching straight for the phone.
Rest in a comfortable position with room for your feet. Slowly point your toes a little away from you, then bring them back toward you within an easy range. You may notice a mild stretch in your calves, but don't pull hard or aim for the strongest sensation.
Try a few slow movements, keeping the rest of your body relaxed. There's no need to use a towel, lock your knees, or hold the stretch for a fixed count. If it causes pain or cramping, stop.
If you have a recent injury or a condition affecting your legs, follow your clinician's advice. New swelling, marked pain, or other unexplained symptoms need attention rather than stretching.
When you're ready, sit up and take your time getting out of bed. This can be a gentle beginning to an ordinary morning, not a promise to prevent cramps or undo the previous day's sitting.
