Evening & sleep
If chamomile suits you, enjoy a small cup for its taste and the pause it creates, without treating it as a sleep remedy.
The kettle clicks off, and for once there's nothing else to do while the tea steeps. If you enjoy chamomile, that small interval can become a pleasant part of the evening.
Prepare the tea according to the packet and let it cool to a comfortable drinking temperature. Choose a small cup if a large drink close to bed tends to interrupt your night. Sit somewhere you can set it down safely.
Notice the aroma and take your time with the first sip. Put the phone aside if you'd like a quieter break. When you've had enough, rinse the cup and carry on with the evening.
Chamomile hasn't been established as a treatment for insomnia. It can also cause allergic reactions and interact with some medicines. If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication, or unsure whether it's suitable, check with a pharmacist or clinician. Another familiar, suitable caffeine-free drink can serve the same purpose.
You don't need the tea to do something extraordinary. It can be enough that you like it and that making it gives you a few unhurried minutes before bed.
