Give Your Phone a Place to Rest in the Evening루틴일상

It's easy to keep the phone in your hand long after the task you picked it up for is finished. Give it a practical place to sit when you'd like the evening to include something else.

Choose a shelf, tray, or other stable spot that's easy to reach when you need it. A basket is optional. If you charge there, use an appropriate hard surface with ventilation and follow the device's safety instructions; don't cover a charging phone with fabric or pile devices together.

Decide on the exceptions first

Keep essential calls, medical functions, accessibility tools, and care responsibilities available. You can leave the phone nearby with selected notifications rather than putting it out of reach.

Try placing it down during dinner, a conversation, or a short part of the evening. Ask other people if they'd like to join; don't collect their devices without agreement.

When you need the phone, use it and return it if you still want the break. The place is a reminder of a choice, not a rule that makes every exception a failure. Start with a moment you'd like to spend differently.
