Evening & sleep
A familiar caffeine-free drink can give the evening a pleasant pause, without needing to act as a sleep aid.
Tea in the evening doesn't need to become a study of ingredients and steeping temperatures. Choose a drink you know you enjoy and prepare it according to the packet.
If you're avoiding caffeine near bedtime, check the label. Herbal blends vary, and green, black, and some blended teas contain caffeine. Decaf isn't always completely caffeine-free. Water or another suitable drink is an equally good option.
Use a clean mug, let the drink cool enough to sip safely, and sit somewhere you can put it down securely. You can read, talk, or leave the phone aside for a few minutes. Finish when you've had enough rather than treating an empty cup as a task.
Herbal ingredients can have side effects or interact with medicines. Check with a pharmacist or clinician if you're unsure, particularly during pregnancy or while taking medication.
The drink doesn't need to guarantee calm, better digestion, or sleep. Its place in the evening can be much simpler: something you like making, at a time when you don't have to hurry through it.
