Everyday routines
A quick photo can help you remember what you already have when you're standing in the supermarket aisle.

At the shop, you remember needing yogurt. At home, you discover the unopened tub you bought last time. A photo won't show everything, but it can give your memory something practical to work with.
Before leaving, take a clear picture of the fridge shelves you tend to forget. Open a drawer if needed, and make a short note of anything hidden behind other items. A pantry or freezer photo can help too, when that's where the duplicates happen.
At the store, check the photo before buying another familiar item. Remember that a picture can't reliably tell you whether food is fresh or whether a container is almost empty. Check dates and contents while you're still at home.
Think about what you can use with the ingredients you already have. A sale is useful when the food fits a meal you'll actually make.
After unpacking, delete the old picture or replace it for the next trip. It doesn't need a special album or a complete inventory. One recent image may save you the small, recurring question: “Do we already have this?”
