PAPER

Active papers go in one tray only

A space routine that gathers in-progress papers and notes into one desk tray or folder. Separate from the drawer-tray organizing story.

진행 중인 종이는 트레이 하나만

Printouts, receipts, and urgent notes stack beside the keyboard, under the monitor, and next to the cup. You keep re-finding which pile is “in progress.” This is not the drawer-tray story. This is the desk surface your hand already reaches.

You do not need to rebuild a whole filing cabinet. You only need one place for papers that are still active.

Why only one

Several paper piles each become a soft “later.” One tray or folder makes the border clear. Inside means still to handle. Outside means return it to a home or recycle it. Not a perfect taxonomy. Just one place for the eye to land.

How

1. Put one shallow tray or A4 folder where your hand already goes, such as the right side of the desk or beside the monitor. You do not need to buy anything. A box or clipboard you own is fine.

2. Put only papers you are actively working on inside. When done, recycle or file them. Do not park “someday” magazines there.

3. At the end of the day, sweep once around the keyboard, cup, and monitor base into that tray. If it overflows, sort from the bottom: discard, store, or move to next week.

4. Do not relocate the tray. A fixed spot trains the hand to look there.

What not to do

Do not add a tray per project. Do not merge this with the drawer-tray story into one huge desk overhaul. Do not move this into a bedtime bedside-papers scene. Do not treat the tray like a junk drawer. Empty the bottom once a week.

In one line

Active papers go in one tray only. It is fixing one spot on the desk for what is still in motion.
