Rainy-day journeys

On the move
Choose what you'd like to hear before leaving, so the journey doesn't begin with endless browsing.
A podcast can be a good companion, but finding one at the station can turn into ten minutes of scrolling. Make the choice earlier, when you have a moment to look properly.
Save a small selection of episodes you'd genuinely like to hear. Mix the lengths if that helps: something brief for a short ride and something longer you don't mind pausing. Download them in advance if your connection is unreliable and your data plan allows it.
A few episodes are enough. You don't need to build a backlog that turns listening into homework. Remove things that no longer interest you, and leave room for a journey without audio.
Start playback while safely stationary. Keep the volume low enough to remain aware of your surroundings, and pause for crossings, announcements, or anything that needs attention. Check local rules and the needs of your route.
When you arrive, stop wherever you are. An unfinished episode can wait. The queue is there to make choosing easier, not to give every commute a listening target you need to complete.
