Rainy-day journeys

On the move
Choose an episode before setting off and let listening fit the route, rather than making the route serve the episode.
A walk that usually comes with scrolling can offer a chance to listen instead. If audio suits your route and helps you enjoy it, choose an episode before you leave.
Pick something you want to hear, not something you feel obliged to learn. Download it in advance if useful, and have the controls ready while you're safely stationary. You don't need an ambitious listening plan for a twenty-minute journey.
Use a comfortable volume and a setup that lets you remain aware of traffic, announcements, and other people. Pause the audio or remove headphones wherever conditions require more attention, especially at crossings. Don't adjust playback while stepping into the road.
If you need to make a note, stop in a suitable place first. It's also fine to let an interesting idea pass without recording it.
Pause when you arrive, even mid-sentence. Another day you may prefer music, conversation, or no added audio. The episode is a companion for the walk, not a task you must complete before you can go inside.
