On the move
Choose something you'd like to read and give it a little attention before opening the next link.
Newsletters can collect faster than you read them. By Sunday, even a list of things you chose to subscribe to may look like another inbox to clear.
Pick one piece that interests you now. It can be a newsletter, an essay, or a longer article you've saved. Leave the rest unopened for the moment rather than trying to catch up on everything.
Give it about fifteen minutes if that's the time you have. You can finish sooner, stop halfway, or continue because you're enjoying it. The point is choosing the reading, not completing a quota.
If a sentence stays with you, save a brief note in your own words or bookmark the article. You don't need a summary to prove you paid attention. Follow a link if it's genuinely useful, but notice when reading turns back into browsing.
Then decide whether you're ready to put it away and begin something else. Over time, unsubscribe from material you consistently don't want to read. A smaller selection can leave more room for the writing you actually look forward to.
