Everyday routines
Put breakfast on a plate and take a seat, even if you only have a few minutes before heading out.

Toast in one hand, shoes in the other: breakfast can become another part of getting out the door. If that sounds familiar, try giving the meal a place of its own.
Set whatever you're having on a plate or in a bowl and sit at the table. There's no special menu to follow. Rice and an egg, yogurt and fruit, or toast with something you enjoy can all fit. Keep your phone out of reach so the few minutes you have aren't immediately filled with messages.
You don't need a slow weekend breakfast on a workday. Begin with the time you actually have. Put the food within reach, sit comfortably, and eat before putting on your shoes. If you're still hungry, have more; if you're full, put the leftovers away. The plate isn't a portion limit.
On a rushed morning, even a brief sit can make breakfast feel more like a meal than something you managed between tasks. If mornings keep getting squeezed, set out a bowl or choose breakfast the night before.
The useful change is small: when it's time to eat, there's a seat waiting for you.
